FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the main difference between Normal Duty and Heavy Duty ratings?
Normal Duty is for general applications. Heavy Duty rating is for tougher jobs like conveyors or crushers. It allows for higher overloads. - Can I use this drive on a single-phase power source?
No. The 20F11ND027AA0NNNNN needs a three-phase 480V AC power supply. It will not work correctly with single-phase. - What does “Embedded I/O” mean for this PowerFlex drive?
It means basic digital and analog inputs/outputs are built into the drive. You may not need extra modules for simple control tasks. - Why choose an Open-Type drive over a NEMA-rated enclosure?
Choose Open-Type to mount it inside your own control panel. This protects it from dust and water. It is often more cost-effective. - How do I know if my motor is compatible with this VFD?
Check your motor’s nameplate. It must match the drive’s voltage (480V) and be rated at or below 20HP. The motor should also be three-phase.
