1734-EPAC Allen-Bradley POINT I/O Expansion Power Supply
The 1734-EPAC is an Allen-Bradley POINT I/O expansion power supply. It sends field power to I/O modules and separates field power. As a result, it creates a clear partition between input and output modules. You can group modules by function or task. The supply supports 4 to 17 I/O modules. However, the exact count depends on DIN-rail position and module current. In addition, multiple units can work with POINT I/O adapters to build a full system.
This module accepts 120 to 240 Volts AC field power. It provides 10 amps supply current. Moreover, it uses MOV and fuse overvoltage protection. Therefore, it is a practical choice for system expansion and power partitioning in POINT I/O architectures.

Installation Guide
- Mount the module on a standard DIN-rail in a POINT I/O system.
- Turn off field power before you connect or disconnect wiring.
- This prevents electrical arcs and protects module contacts.
- Also, check module count and current demand before you add modules.
- Use multiple 1734-EPAC units when you need power partitioning.
Commissioning and Maintenance
- Use the green LEDs for quick status checks during startup.
- The field power LED shows input power status.
- Meanwhile, the system power LED shows 5 Volts presence.
- Inspect wiring and fuses during routine maintenance.
- Keep the ambient temperature below 55 degrees Celsius.
Compatibility
The 1734-EPAC works with Allen-Bradley POINT I/O systems. It supports I/O modules in the same series. Besides, it works with POINT I/O adapters in multi-supply architectures. Still, confirm current needs and DIN-rail position for each configuration. Contact our team for verification before you order.

Typical Applications
- Field power distribution in POINT I/O systems.
- Input and output power partitioning.
- Modular expansion in compact control panels.
- Grouping modules by task or function.
- Systems that need isolated field power sections.
Diagnostic Capability
The module provides two green indicators. One shows field power status. The other shows 5 Volts system power. Thus, these LEDs help you verify power quickly during commissioning and troubleshooting. Moreover, the MOV and fuse protection support safe operation during overvoltage events.
