Installation Guide
- Mount on zinc plate, yellow chromate steel DIN rail. Avoid aluminum or plastic rail. These may corrode or oxidize. Poor conductors can cause bad grounding.
- Fix the DIN rail to the panel about every 200 mm (7.8 in.). Use suitable anchors.
- Install the module with keyswitch position 1.
- Wire all cables to the Removable Terminal Block (RTB) at the bottom.
- Use a 1734 POINT I/O communication adapter. The adapter supplies the network interface and POINTBus power.
- Keep the panel closed and clean. The module has an open-style rating.
Commissioning and Maintenance
Check the module status LED. It shows normal operation, recoverable fault, unrecoverable fault, or self-test mode. Then check the network status LED. It shows online, critical link failure, or communication fault. Also check the input LEDs. They show if input 0, 1, 2, or 3 is active. Write the node address on the front panel writable area. Set the input filter time from 0 to 63 ms as needed. Keep spare RTBs on hand for fast service.
