REPL-02 Ethernet POWERLINK Adapter for ABB Drives
The REPL-02 module adds an Ethernet POWERLINK port to an ABB drive. It seats in the option slot on the drive control board. Field engineers choose it when the machine network runs POWERLINK at 100 Mbit/s. The link is half duplex over 100Base-TX. Two RJ-45 ports allow daisy-chain wiring. Node address selection uses an 8-way DIP switch or drive parameters. Power comes from the drive control board at 380 mA average on 5 V. Internal termination removes external parts. All materials carry UL/CSA approval. EMC behaviour follows EN 50081-2 and EN 50082-2. Estimated minimum lifetime is 100 000 h. The board suits cabinet builds where cable runs stay under 100 m per segment.

FAQ
How do I confirm my ABB drive accepts the REPL-02?
Check the drive hardware manual for the option slot list. The module needs a free slot and firmware support. Send us the drive type code and we verify fit before purchase.
Why does the network drop one node?
Duplicate node addresses cause this fault. Check the DIP switch first. Then confirm the master polls that address in its config file.
Can I mix UTP and STP cable in one line?
Yes, but keep runs short and grounded at both ends. STP and FTP handle noise better in drive cabinets. Prefer one cable type across the line.
Do I need external termination?
No. The REPL-02 terminates internally. Extra resistors on the trunk cause reflections and link errors.
What should I check on a used REPL-02?
Ask for photos of the DIP switch and RJ-45 ports. Confirm no bent pins on the 34-pin connector. A tested unit with a 12-month warranty lowers risk.
