TC-FOR081 Relay Digital Output Module
The Honeywell TC-FOR081 brings eight isolated Form A electromechanical relays to Series C I/O racks. Each contact switches real loads: 2A at 240V ac, 0.5A at 48V dc, 0.25A at 125V dc. Contacts stay open until logic commands them closed. A snubber circuit limits off-state leakage to 1mA. The module suits panels that mix ac and dc field devices on one card. Relay isolation reaches 2550V dc between contact sets and logic. Engineers pick this card when they need hard contact switching, not solid-state output. Inrush rating hits 15A for lamp and motor loads. Contact life reaches 100,000 operations at rated load. Logic-side response takes 8ms to energize and 26ms to release. The card fits 46mm of rail width, so dense cabinets gain space. Use it for valve pilots, contactor coils, and alarm circuits in legacy Honeywell systems.

Where It Fits
- Legacy Honeywell Series C racks with relay output slots
- Panels mixing ac solenoids and dc pilot valves
- Systems needing dry contact switching instead of solid-state output
- Contactor coil drive circuits up to 2A
- Alarm and annunciator lamp circuits with 15A inrush
- Retrofit jobs where the original card is obsolete
Installation Notes
- Clip the card onto DIN rail in a Series C rack slot
- Wire 12 AWG stranded max; keep insulation at 1.2mm
- Feed 24V dc field supply in the 19.2-31.2V dc window
- Add a fused terminal base with 3.0A Littelfuse 239003 if protection is required
- Outputs are not fused inside the module
- Check the 8 yellow LEDs after power-up
- Keep ac and dc field cables separated to cut crosstalk
Setup and Service
- No calibration needed; relays are factory set
- Yellow LEDs show field-side state for fast fault tracing
- Contact resistance stays low over the 100,000-operation life
- Swap the card as a unit if a contact welds
- Inspect terminal torque at planned shutdowns

FAQ
Q: Can the TC-FOR081 switch 240V ac directly?
A: Yes. Each Form A contact handles 2A at 240V ac resistive. Use the fused base for protection.
Q: My original relay card is obsolete. Will this drop in?
A: It fits Series C racks with relay output slots. Send us your rack model and we verify fit before shipping.
Q: How do I protect the outputs?
A: The module has no internal fusing. Add a fused terminal base with a 3.0A Littelfuse 239003.
Q: What load types cause early contact wear?
A: High inrush lamps and inductive loads wear contacts faster. Stay under 15A inrush and add snubbers where possible.
Q: How do I choose between this card and a solid-state output?
A: Pick the relay card for dry contact isolation and mixed ac/dc loads. Pick solid-state for high cycle rates above 0.3Hz.
