1762-OX6I Allen-Bradley MicroLogix Isolated Relay Output Module
The 1762-OX6I is a MicroLogix 1200 expansion module from Allen-Bradley. It carries six individually isolated Form C relay outputs. Each channel has one normally open and one normally closed terminal. As a result, every point works as an independent switch. Contacts cover 5 to 125 V DC and 5 to 264 V AC. Bus draw is 110 mA at 5 V DC and 110 mA at 24 V DC. The module uses a flat ribbon cable with a female bus connector. It mounts on a DIN rail or a panel. Leave 2 inches of free space on all sides for airflow. Typical ON delay is 6 ms, with 10 ms maximum. Typical OFF delay is 12 ms, with 20 ms maximum.

Isolation and Signal Behavior
- Each channel is isolated from the others, so one fault stays local.
- Form C contacts give you NO and NC in one point.
- ON delay fits fast interlock logic.
- OFF delay stays under 20 ms for predictable drop-out.
Installation Notes
- Check shock and vibration first. The site decides the mounting method.
- Use DIN rail with end anchors for normal plant floors.
- Use two panhead screws per module where vibration is severe.
- Keep 2 inches clear on every side for airflow.
- Link the module to the controller with the ribbon cable.
- Add the module to the hardware configuration before power-up.
Compatibility and Slot Limits
- MicroLogix 1100: up to 4 modules.
- MicroLogix 1200: up to 6 modules.
- MicroLogix 1400: up to 7 modules.
- Fits any free slot in a Bulletin 1762 expansion rack.
Oiltech Controls’s Insight
- Isolated Form C points suit mixed-voltage panels. You can switch a 24 V DC coil next to a 240 V AC contactor without common-mode trouble.
- The 7 A per point rating covers most contactor coils and small solenoids directly. External interposing relays are often unnecessary.
- Six separate groups simplify fault finding. A dead channel does not pull down its neighbors.
- Panel-mount with screws is the safer choice on presses, conveyors and other high-shock machines.
Oiltech Controls Review
- We test every 1762-OX6I on a MicroLogix bench before dispatch.
- Contact resistance and delay times are checked per channel.
- Units ship within 24 to 28 hours of order confirmation.
- Couriers: FedEx, UPS and DHL.
- All units carry a 12-month warranty.
Best Fit Equipment
- Contactor and starter coils up to 7 A
- Solenoid valves and small actuators
- Pilot lamps and panel indicators
- Alarm horns, buzzers and annunciators
- VFD RUN and START inputs
- Interlock circuits needing NO and NC contacts
FAQ
Q: How is this different from a standard relay output card?
A: Each of the six points is isolated. One shorted field wire will not affect the other channels. In practice, this saves downtime on mixed-voltage panels.
Q: Can I use it with a MicroLogix 1400?
A: Yes. You can fit up to seven modules. Plan slot order early, because the power supply distance rating is six positions.
Q: What should I check before buying a used unit?
A: Ask for per-channel contact resistance and delay test data. Also confirm the ribbon cable and bus connector are included and undamaged.
Q: Is 7 A per point enough for my contactor?
A: Check the coil inrush VA, not just the holding current. Most small and medium contactors fit. Large coils may still need an interposing relay.
Q: DIN rail or screw mounting?
A: Use DIN rail with end anchors on stable floors. Use two panhead screws per module on high-vibration machines such as presses and conveyors.
