Product Overview
The Yokogawa F3XH04-3N is a high-speed pulse input module for the FA-M3 series. It has 4 independent input channels. It captures short pulses that are faster than the PLC scan period. The minimum pulse width is only 50 µs. This module suits high-speed sensing with photo-micro switches and fast sensors.
Each channel is photocoupler isolated. The four inputs are fully independent. You can connect different signal systems on one module. The terminal block includes terminals for shielded cables. This helps reject noise in harsh panels.
The module supports pulse capture and interrupt features. You select them by DIP switches. Note: pulse capture and interrupt cannot run at the same time. It works with any FA-M3 CPU module. There is no CPU type restriction.

Installation Guide
- Mount the module in a clean, dry panel.
- Keep the ambient temperature between 0 and 55 °C.
- Use shielded cables for pulse signals.
- Land shields on the terminal block shield terminals.
- Use wire of 0.33 to 0.82 mm2.
- Tighten screws to 0.8 N·m. Do not overtighten.
- Keep signal wires away from motor and drive cables.
- Check input polarity and voltage before power-on.
Setup and Maintenance
- Set pulse capture or interrupt mode by DIP switch.
- Set interrupt points in WideField3.
- Confirm ON level is at least 16.0 V DC.
- Confirm OFF level is at most 6.0 V DC.
- Use a scope to check pulse width above 50 µs.
- Clean terminals only when power is off.
- Recheck torque after long service.

Diagnostics
Short pulses may be missed if the ON time is under 50 µs. Check input current stays at 7.2 mA or more in ON state. Leakage above 2.5 mA may hold an input in OFF state errors. Use the input hold time of 512 µs to confirm capture events. Confirm DIP switch mode before you trust an interrupt. A scope on the terminal block is the fastest fault finder.
