MPX23A-DFC20A-MPI-0620-5E3-CA-C is a SEW-EURODRIVE MOVIPRO® decentralized field-mounted inverter. It delivers 62.0 A and 30.0 kW in Size 3E. However, the DFC20A variant uses PROFINET IO with M12 D-coded ports. The CA version has no MOVILINK DDI motor interface and uses a standard motor connection. It suits modular conveyor and intralogistics systems. Moreover, it supports U/f, VFCplus, CFC and ELSM control modes. It runs SEW motors and third-party motors. Installation Guide
- Mount the unit close to the motor on the machine frame. Therefore, Size 3E is fan-cooled, so keep airflow clear.
- Use the M12 4-pin D-coded ports for PROFINET IO. Also, check cable shielding and grounding.
- Connect 3 x AC 380-500 V supply. Then verify line frequency at 50-60 Hz +/-5%.
- Use the CA standard motor connection. However, the CA variant has no MOVILINK DDI motor plug.
- Wire brake control as needed: DC 24 V BMV5, AC 230-460 V BD1B, or safe brake SBM.
- Keep the IP65 seal intact. In addition, use suitable cable glands and covers.
- Respect the -25 to +40 °C full-load range. Also derate above +40 °C up to +60 °C.
Commissioning and Maintenance
- Set the control mode: U/f, VFCplus, CFC or ELSM. Then match it to the motor and load.
- Set PWM frequency to 4, 8 or 16 kHz. However, higher settings reduce motor noise but raise losses.
- Check encoder feedback for sin/cos, TTL/HTL, RS422 or HIPERFACE devices.
- Use PROFINET IO diagnostics for fast fault finding. Moreover, DFC20A gives direct fieldbus access.
- Fan cooling on Size 3E needs periodic inspection. Therefore, keep fins and filters clean.
- Store spare units at -25 to +70 °C, non-condensing, to protect electronics.
Compatibility Notes
- Supports SEW synchronous and asynchronous motors. Also supports third-party motors.
- DFC20A is the PROFINET IO variant. However, DFC1 offers EtherCAT/SBusPLUS. DFC3 offers EtherNet/IP + Modbus TCP.
- The CA variant uses standard motor connection. Therefore, it does not accept the MOVILINK DDI motor plug.
- Fits MOVI-C® automation systems. In addition, adds MOVISAFE safety options when required.
